When he left home on a sunny Friday in October, the biggest decision Jay expected to make that day was what drink to have with his lunch. As it turned out that wasn’t a decision he would have to make for another 12 months.
An hour after saying goodbye to his wife and baby son he would be paralysed from the waist down causing his life to take a very different trajectory. This new direction would take him into a world where he would meet singing stroke survivors, romance novel reading cancer patients and a seagull named Steven. A world where seemingly anyone with his contact details would be sending more inspirational stories about miracle recoveries than you could shake a walking stick at.
Jay gives an open and honest perspective of the days, weeks and months of life after a traumatic injury.
He will ask important questions like will I ever walk again? Can I still be the father and husband I want to be ? and why are there only pedal bins in a hospital where no-one can use their legs?
This is a story of nurses becoming accidental drugs mules, wheelbarrow walking with your pants down, disability sports and the hierarchy of paraplegics
This is not another inspirational story.

Surfing at 29th Street was their haven from the turmoil of the times.

The nation was tearing itself apart.
The day Kennedy was shot would not only change history but Robbie Doyle’s life; the people he would meet that day would shape his future.
Sixteen-year-old Robbie’s life was already in chaos. His father had died suddenly of a heart attack. He and his mother had to move to a new town in Florida, where they went from living a middle-class life to living on Social Security.
Samantha and Nick, from the wrong side of things, would become Robbie’s best friends. Nick wanted to be something besides the toughest guy in school — Samantha, who had a talent for photography and dreamed of becoming a professional photographer.
Mr. Smith, his high school principal, was not what he seemed.
Maddy and Christie are a mother and daughter who would play a large part in his future. Christie, with her mother’s looks and confidence, was the school’s prima-donna and his high school crush.
Vietnam and the draft loomed over all their futures.
The one place Robbie, Samantha, and Nick could escape was surfing at 29th Street South in Cocoa Beach. They found peace and the time to answer the questions that the Sixties demanded: do Robbie and Nick let themselves be drafted, or do they forge their paths? How will Samantha deal with their decisions?
Follow Robbie and his friends Samantha and Nick from the day Kennedy was assassinated when they first meet, through the turmoil of those years, and finally, the effect Vietnam had on each of their lives. Coming of age in the Sixties was a time of difficult choices.

It’s time for a Medieval dragonrider to fix the modern world.
Six-hundred years ago, Genevieve Beaufont stole a dragon egg and buried it. Now it’s time for that egg to finally hatch. It’s time for Gen Beaufont to be the rebel she always dreamed of.
Gen, a resident of 15th century England, finds herself stuck in modern day America — all because she was overly curious and followed strangers through a time travel gate.
Two things have always gotten Gen in trouble: her curiosity and defiance. But times have changed, quite literally. Those traits could save her life.
In modern times, crime is out of control. Only one person can fix it — someone who doesn’t play by the rules. Someone from the Medieval era.
Genevieve was one of the first Beaufonts — the most powerful magical family to ever exist. The Founders of the House of Fourteen. The ruling forces over the magical world.
Gen always knew that she’d inherit her father’s legacy, she just didn’t know it would happen quite like this.
Can Gen Beaufont take the reins on a magical world established by her family centuries before but now entrusted to this timeless vigilante? Or will the modern world break this Medieval warrior?

“No one heard us. They decided not to, to turn their heads away.
It was too much to bear. Too much to know. Too hard to swallow.
But now that the world knows, now that the world has heard, it all seems so simple, so easy to defray.
I screamed and no one heard.
Next time, will you be listening?”
Aliz and her twin sister, Hajna, are enjoying their playful, carefree and comfortable life with their parents in Szeged, Hungary just before the Nazis invade. Seemingly overnight, their lives change drastically as they are transported to the ghetto on the outskirts of the city and then to Auschwitz where they are subjected to Mengele’s deadly twin experiments.
After several months of brutal torture, Aliz is liberated to find that she is the only survivor in her family.
At not even 11 years old, Aliz must make the journey to San Francisco alone, an entire world away from everything she’s known, in order to live with her only known relatives whom she has never met– a depressed aunt and teenage cousin who is more than ready to escape her mother’s melancholy.
Told through the eyes of both Aliz and her cousin Isabelle, Unravelled tells a powerful story of survival, hope, family and the lives war and genocide haunt long after liberation. It is a truly moving piece of historical fiction, based heavily on historical facts.
