I don’t really feel like I am springing forward with my clocks this morning. It’s more of a being dragged kicking and screaming. Although I am under the illusion that now that we have moved our clocks forward Spring is right around the corner, and the weather will change instantly. The sun is out, so maybe it isn’t a lie. My cute yellow flowers that I planted in the new flowerbeds are like little pompoms beckoning me to come outside. I won’t because I am not insane, and it is still cold and wet, but I will wave at them from inside my kitchen window as I enjoy my hot coffee. I am certain there is some study a group of smart science people did, that discovered that waving hello to your plants in the morning while enjoying your coffee from inside the house, makes them grow faster and is not in the least bit crazy. Prove me wrong. Scientists have done weirder studies.

Abbie Carter felt doomed as she clutched her bouquet and started walking up the aisle. Again. She felt like she was stuck in some kind of Groundhog Day wedding nightmare. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Eight dresses, most of them hideous, were already stuffed in her attic space. She had more bridesmaid dresses than relationships. Was she really that unlucky in love? She despaired of ever finding her soul mate and was convinced that if she packed away dress thirteen in her attic, she’d never get to wear the coveted white one and have her happy ever after.
That was until she locked eyes with one of the handsome ushers, whose wink turned her elegant and well-practiced glide up the aisle into a flailing Bambi-on-ice spectacle. Miller Davis was the first man in forever to make her heart skip a beat, as well as her legs turn to jelly. And, for once, her interest in a man didn’t seem to be one-sided. It was just a shame that the Atlantic Ocean separated them. Abbie couldn’t even make a relationship with her elderly fat pooch, Sumo, work, so what chance did she have with a permanent New Yorker? Her best friend, Georgie, told her to ignore the miles that separated her from Miller and to go for it, saying that true love knew no bounds.
Was Abbie fated to always be the bridesmaid, or would her wish for the perfect day with the man of her dreams ever come true?
A laugh-out-loud novel from Charlotte Fallowfield, Amazon U.K. #1 bestselling contemporary romance author of Until We Collide.
While Never The Bride is a standalone story, it’s the first in the Dilbury Village series of romantic comedy novels. All of them will be set in the quaint fictitious English hamlet in the Shropshire countryside, but feature a different village couples’ story.

Vessel of Fire (Time Pieces Series Book 1)
by Elena Tucker
(26 Reviews)
Genre: Historical Fiction | Religion & Spirituality | Religious & Inspirational Fiction
FREE for a limited time
When archaeologist, Dr Lem Fort begins excavating the ruins of ancient Beit Sha’al, he unknowingly delves into the long-ago life of a young girl and potter, Tamar. Set across both contemporary times and the second century, Vessel of Fire draws a picture of life on the northwest corner of the Dead Sea during one of Judaism’s bravest and riskiest revolts against Rome. Tamar’s uncertainties, fears, and spiritual questions are not, in the end, that different from those of Ford who struggles with his own losses and temptations.
Vessel of Fire is the first book of the Time Pieces trilogy in which author Elena Tucker profiles a century of almost unthinkably different daily existence. It was a time of simplicity in the midst of unrest, a time when strict and established ways were turning inside out because of small communities today called Christian.
Yet the essence of life then was no different than it is today. And as he excavates three sites, archaeologist Lem Fort handles every coin, vessel, and sherd as his last connection with some long-forgotten individual; Fort recognizes these artifacts as pieces from time.
Far from empty remnants, Tucker’s “vessels” brim with imagination, soul, and period experiences. Breaking away from traditional Christian fiction, Vessel of Fire, Vessel of Strength, and Vessel of Hope follow humanity’s ongoing spiritual quest – as experienced by characters two millennia past, and by the archaeologist who sifts through their ruins.
