Tonight is a very special night. One of my Christmas gifts from hubby this year was tickets to see Kris Kristofferson in concert. OH THE JOY!!! How fitting to that I woke up this Sunday morning with no way to hold my head up that didn’t hurt. I did not however have a beer or two for breakfast because..well… ew. I did however have a piece of bread, two aspirin, and a cup of coffee. I am still fighting the effects of the flu I had and I really need to get myself together for tonight. Kris Kristofferson is an amazing singer and story teller and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday evening.

“Blevins succeeds in weaving humor, zany characters, and the occult into an entertaining mystery with serious undertones.” — Publisher’s Weekly “Great plot and insight into Gypsy culture!” ~ Library Journal, starred review. The spicy Szabo women would like to kick back with a lover, a good movie, and a few laughs, but life has something else in mind. One meeting with an extraordinary boy leads them headlong into another wild, and hair-raising, adventure.
Annie Szabo has discovered a miracle — Jimmy Qi, a kid from Chinatown with the power to heal using music. He’s dazzling, he’s a scoundrel, he is sensitive, and he makes a great newspaper article. But now? Everyone wants Jimmy.
Feeling responsible for creating San Francisco’s latest hot commodity, Annie enlists her mother-in-law, the audacious fortune-teller Madame Mina, to help keep Jimmy safe from his avid pursuers: an evangelist; an ex-hero with a troubled past; the tongs; a CDC doctor; a dolphin fanatic; and an FBI agent who seems too good to be true.
A set of aging twins with a vivid past and a dubious future offer Annie protection. The women have powerful alliances, and they like Annie’s style. She has reservations, but after an afternoon spent slamming back Bombay Gin with the ladies, Annie accepts their help.
And then the bodies start turning up. Annie grabs Jimmy and runs, luring the killer through a tangle of Chinese New Year celebrations and north, up the deserted California coast, where she and Madame Mina force the killer to face justice.

Cal Carver thinks his life has hit rock bottom.
When the small-time conman finds himself imprisoned and forced to share a cell with a semi-naked cannibalistic serial killer, he’s pretty sure his day can’t get any worse.
He is wrong.
It isn’t until two-thirds of the human race is wiped out and Cal is mistakenly abducted by aliens that things really start to go downhill.
Whisked across the galaxy, Cal is thrown into a team of some of the sector’s most notorious villains and scumbags and tasked with delivering a package to a warlord-run solar system where the authorities dare not venture.
The mission should be simple enough, but as one screw-up leads to another the ragtag group of unwitting heroes find themselves in a frantic battle to save an entire alien civilization – and its god – from total annihilation.
Featuring epic space battles, unforgettable characters, and a shapeshifting blob with the face of Tobey Maguire, Space Team is the first book in the internationally bestselling series by award-winning author, Barry J. Hutchison, and is perfect for fans of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Galaxy Quest, Guardians of the Galaxy, and pretty much anything else with the word ‘Galaxy’ in the title.*
*Except maybe Samsung’s Galaxy S series, which is a range of mobile phones, and so not really similar.

What would they do for power? Everything.
“Moving at the speed of light, the electric impulses delivered their message to his conscious brain as the hammer fell on the revolver. The blinding white light that followed extinguished all that was Clayton Marswell.”
The string of bloody bodies scattered across the Georgia landscape seem to have nothing in common. From different neighborhoods, different levels of society and with different political philosophies, the victims have only one connection. They are all on a list. The question is, why and whose list is it?
Brought together by the list, “The Hunters” unite, once again, and work to unravel the conspiracy behind the murders. George Mackey, Sharon Price, and Bob Shaklee are joined by Andrew Barnes and Perry Boyd of the elite Atlanta Homicide Division in a hunt that takes them from inner-city Atlanta to the swamps of south Georgia.
The story’s gripping conclusion explodes in the revelation of the conspirators’ identities. The one task left for the Hunters is to confront and take down the killing team… if they can.

During Missouri’s Mormon Wars of the mid-1800s, the Whitlock family seeks to escape mob violence on the state’s western frontier by hiding in the rugged north Missouri wilderness where the Hill Spring Trail crosses the Chariton River. Here, in constant fear of discovery, David Whitlock meets and falls in love with Suzanna Shattuck, the independent and spirited daughter of a nearby settler. As David and Suzanna struggle with their growing passion for each other and with the differences that separate their families, two other figures move inescapably toward each other and the young couple.
