I certainly seem to be eating my words. This just might be the storm of the century with more than one town under water, blizzards in the mountains, and flash flood warnings for everyone else. The seven year drought has caused a lot of trees to grow brittle and weak and they are dropping like flies on houses, cars, and roadways. Sadly, California’s most famous Sequoia, the Tunnel Tree, was brought down by the storm as well. I’m not sure just how many people were getting around by canoe the other day, but it was way more than usual. Ironically most of those canoes were probably purchased at Costco, which also happened to be the only way to get to that store for a while there. So I am going to stop sassing the weatherman and check Craigslist for deals on boats.

Cerulean is on the brink of collapse. The decay wasn’t fast, it wasn’t obvious, but now the world stands on the precipice. Woven forests floating on an ocean around a star, Cerulean’s once vibrant treescape has grown dim over generations of arboreal life, and the creatures of the forest have forgotten the light. Barra, a young, willful Listlespur, finds her late father’s hidden journal, and reads about his discovery of Cerulean’s brighter past and the mysterious plague he believed has all but destroyed it. He warned the Elders. He urged them to take action. Those were his last words… Together with her two best friends, Barra will rekindle her father’s legacy and traverse the Great Forest to relight her world, even if she has to travel beneath the Fall. To fully realize Safronoff’s incredible world building, an amazing team of artists helped visualize the depths and magic of Cerulean through 40 full color pieces of art and over 80 line drawings.

by Debra Salonen
(145 Reviews)
Genre: Romance
FREE for a limited time
Austen Zabrinski looks the part — He’s got the ranch, the boots, the hat and even a few head of cattle, but everybody in Marietta, Montana, knows the former golden boy of Marietta High is a wealthy politician, not a cowboy. And even though that nasty scandal in Helena might have knocked him down a notch or two in the polls, what kind of a fool would trade access to the halls of power in Helena and a Harvard law degree for a ranch in western Montana? Possibly one whose new neighbor, Serena James–the woman the guys at Grey’s Saloon call “… the Red Hot Llama Mama”–makes him start to think about what he wants out of life, instead of what’s expected of him. Serena James knows trouble when it hops her fence– Moving to Montana and deleting her blog seemed like the perfect solution to her online stalker problem. Serena’s ready for a fresh start, but when her escrow on her ranch falls through, she has to scramble to find an immediate but temporary safe haven to rent for her herd of 50 alpacas, two llamas and one giant dog. Serena’s barely moved in when Austen Zabrinski–the man her landlord called “my absentee ranch owner brother who lives and works in Helena”–hops the fence in need of a lift. Even at first glance, Serena can tell he’s nobody cowboy, but who’s to say that isn’t a good thing? A little tryst with her gorgeous, sexy, here-today-gone-to-Helena-tomorrow neighbor might be the perfect welcome to Montana.
