What’s the best thing about being on vacation ten minutes from home? Being able to go home and get all the stuff you forgot. Wow! What a list. I wonder if we would have really needed all this stuff if we were further away. We might need an extra car to bring it all back. It’s pretty quiet here at home…kinda nice. Maybe I should sit a while.

Genre: Romance | Thrillers
FREE for a limited time
This psychological suspense follows forensic psychiatrist Kate Myers who believes the killer of two teenage girls in Bigler County, California, is the same man who savagely murdered her twin sister over fifteen years ago. Working with a single-minded tenacity, she sets out to prove it. Deputy Sheriff Ben Slater hides his personal pain behind the job, but Kate’s arrival in his county knocks his world on its axis and makes him believe in romance again. He wants to believe her wild theory, but the idea of a serial killer with the kind of pathology she proposes is too bizarre. Together they work to find a killer whose roots began in a small town in Bigler County, but whose violence spread across the nation. A Janus-like killer, more monster than man, he fixates on Kate and wants nothing more than to kill the “purple-eyed girl again.” As this crime thriller builds to a conclusion, Kate finds herself in grave danger, while Slater uses his forensics skills to discover who the madman is and where he’s taken her.

Life in the big city is not for the faint of heart. Shadows lurk in sunlight; blood spills on floors; hope and dread are just two sides of a neon sign; and loneliness is a paper cut on the heart, an invisible wound that eventually kills. In these stories, Katherine Tomlinson explores the dark heart of urban living — the violence that seeps through walls like rancid cooking odors, the paranoia that grows in the dark, nurtured by guilt and grief; the retribution that strikes as suddenly and implacably as summer lightning. And every day brings a new challenge. It is what it is… Just Another Day in Paradise…

What do you do when you discover you’re a witch — and that this destroys your soul? Anna Sophia doesn’t know much about herself. Not what happened to her parents. She didn’t know just how different until her 13th birthday, when she discovered her supernatural powers, both delightful and a little frightening. She also learned that these powers make a dark cloud grow inside her soul, bit by tiny bit. And now she’s in danger. Her friends, too. It’s so tempting to use her magic to save them all, but would she sacrifice her soul for that? She just doesn’t know. Anna Sophia can ignite things. She can fly in a bucket and stop time. And she has some serious choices to make.
