It’s getting to be that time again when I have to try something new. This time I will try making things from glass. I say “Things” because you never know what the heck they will be. I could start out trying to make a bowl and it will end up a trivet, or maybe an ornament, and then it also will end up a trivet. You just never know with me. My neighbor bought himself a kiln and he makes a lot of amazing and stunning plates and lampshades from glass, so I thought it might be fun this Christmas to make everyone a nice little glass gift. The bonus to this is that no matter how bad a job I do, glass always looks beautiful, at least that’s what I am hoping. I have absolutely no artistic talent what so ever, but I’m hoping with my neighbors talent and guidance I can make something that won’t make baby goats cry.

‘The Undertaker’s Son’ is set in France, with a definite French flavour. Martha Burton is a strong, likeable woman who has moved abroad, leaving an eccentric, unfaithful husband behind her. Her new life in a picturesque village in south-west France brings her into contact with real people facing a variety of difficult choices. Some of the characters are unscrupulous, some honest, some downright dangerous. All have a conscience, apart from Claude Cousteau, the undertaker’s son. A series of seemingly unrelated events results in a climax which is both explosive and surprising.
