I think it is crazy that I can ask my phone any question in the world, and it has the answer. Sadly, the questions I always ask are, “Are there any cat videos with bunnies?”

VOLUME TWO in the WOOD COW CHRONICLES series. For untold ages, the Granite Hulks at Tilk Duraow have been the impregnable center of the High One’s slaving system. Overpowering. Impenetrable. Final. The point from which there is no return. But now, fifteen-year-old Helga’s revolution — one she hardly expected to begin — is way bigger than she ever dreamed. Tilk Duraow itself is in danger. Unexpectedly finding common cause with a troupe of oddball characters, Helga and old comrades are reunited in a chain of events that portends the Overending. Now even the High One himself is no longer safe. The Overending opens a crack…
Rick Johnson’s slightly skewed reality brings readers another mind-bending, genre-busting adventure. Fantastic and quirky, exhilarating and addicting, this entertaining adventure takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end. Ridiculous, but deadly serious. Hits you hard in the funnies, while turning your mind inside out.

When the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts, it’s up to six university students and their experimental physics project to prevent the end of civilization. When an experiment to study quantum uncertainty goes spectacularly wrong, physics student Richard and his friends find that they have accidentally created an inter-dimensional portal. They connect to an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. They go panning for gold and become millionaires overnight, while fantasizing about Nobel Prizes and patents. Then the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts on Earth in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet. Richard and his friends have less than an afternoon to get as many people as possible across to Outland before Nebraska is covered in a lethal cloud of ash. Now Richard finds himself in charge of a disorganized and frightened band of reluctant pioneers, on a world with none of the modern infrastructure that people have come to depend on. Richard has been a loner all his life, and has always wanted to be part of something bigger- but this is far more than he bargained for. If he doesn’t get this right, it’s not just the lives of the people in his care that could be lost- it may very well be the end of human civilization.

After confiding in a friend and coworker who was seeing a therapist, a seemingly normal, middle-aged woman decides to take her teenage son to a psychologist to work on his anger issues. She thinks that she has lived a rather lackluster life, with an understanding that if she feels a bit “touched,” it is only because “everybody is a bit touched.” During her therapy visits with her son, David, she learns that the therapist is more interested in her, and begins therapy on her own, only to discover that her uninspiring life is that way because of repressed memories, caused by a series of trauma-ridden experiences from long ago. Her therapist introduces her to her Safe Room, a magical place, where she discovers that there exist many personalities wrapped inside of her mind, invading and suppressing it, all with stories of their own intertwining lives to share. She learns through a combination of hypnosis and extremely vivid flashbacks, just how distinct each of these unique individuals has meticulously maintained her sanity or insanity. She is jolted, tossed, and relentlessly bombarded with one startling revelation after another, until the final revelation, which threatens to send her toppling over the edge into complete insanity.
