It’s that time of year again. Garage sale season. Once again have a pile in the middle of my garage waiting for me to do something with it. The big decision is do I have a garage sale and put A LOT of effort and get a few bucks for a movie with popcorn, or do I just donate it all. Either way I always end up donating what doesn’t sell, so I am taking that trip anyway. The biggest problem I have with doing a garage sale is I feel like people are coming to my house and judging me. I am literally inviting people over to look at my stuff and question why on Earth I would have that in the first place, or why would anyone get rid of that. Just sitting here thinking about it feel like an emotional roller-coaster.

Pool shark Jessie Hewitt usually knows where the balls will fall and how the game will end. But when a body lands on her couch, and the cute cop in her kitchen accuses her of murder, even Jessie isn’t sure what will happen next. She also isn’t sure how to catch a killer, but she’s about to learn.
Her skill set doesn’t exactly fit the task, however. Jessie put herself through college hustling at a pool table, and nowadays makes her living writing racy novels. This middle-aged romance author has excellent people-watching skills, a keen imagination, and street smarts going way back. Come to think of it, Jessie is the perfect sleuth.
Playing With Poison is a cozy mystery with a lot of humor, a little romance, and far too much champagne.

Genre: History | Historical Fiction | Teen & Young Adult
FREE for a limited time
Ribbon of Love is the first historical fiction novel by author Donna R. Causey in her Tapestry of Love series about her ancestors.
Faced with possible torture for their religious beliefs, Henry and Mary Pattenden flee 17th century England, experience a perilous trip across the Atlantic only to arrive on the barbaric shores of pre-Revolutionary War America where they endure further hardships in the colonial and primitive days of America with Indian massacres, illness, death, loneliness, love and greed to practice their Christian faith in this historical fiction novel.
Coming from diverse cultural backgrounds and separated from Jamestown by the Chesapeake Bay, the settlers of ‘Ye Kingdom of Accawmacke’ utilized the distance to avoid laws and restrictions imputed on early colonists and created an almost utopia existence among the friendly Indians.
Actual court records dating back to the early1630’s provide historical fodder for the Pattendens’ personal story, and gives the reader an accurate yet fictionalized love story and view of what life may have been like in colonial America. Based on actual residents of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Ribbon of Lovereveals a glimpse of America’s future before the Revolutionary war and what the nation will become.
