I just watched a rat jump onto my back deck and start drinking water from a puddle. My pup watched and made no attempt to attack, which is funny because that is the same reaction I had. I just sat there watching. EEEEWWWW!!!!

My name is Alex Mills and I have a superpower.
Don’t be jealous, it sucks. I can’t control it. My mind is a mutinous SOB that takes over when I go to sleep. I’m just a girl trying to get some shut eye while it decides to throw a rager that can land me just about anywhere in the world.
The base of the Eiffel Tower. The shore on the coast Ireland. The third baseline at Wrigley Field. Sounds exciting and fun, right? Wrong. My not so superpower is unpredictable, uncontrollable and annoying as hell. It’s also how I met Nick. Every cloud has a silver lining. Nick is mine.
Nick is extraordinary as well. He can’t feel fear. Never has, never will. It’s worked out for him as a PJ in the Air Force, one of the most dangerous jobs in the military, but where it’s not helpful is with his social skills. Nick is cold, distant and apathetic.
He’s also my hero. And if he’s to be believed, I’m his.
I first met him when he died and that wasn’t even the weirdest moment of our relationship. Neither is this moment here and now, trapped together in an island prison on the Behring Sea. It’s a long, strange story between his death and his prison. One full of sheep, docks, Jabberwocks and a very special stone. I could tell it to you’d like to hear it. I’ve got time…

Twirty-Something: A Young Woman’s Guide to Giant Underwear
Ingrid Reinke
(41 Reviews)
Genre: Humor & Entertainment

Twirty-Something: A Young Woman’s Guide to Giant Underwear is a hilarious new Kindle Single from Award-Winning and Amazon Best-Selling author and humorist Ingrid Reinke.
On the cold January day when Ingrid Reinke turned 30, she looked back upon the last decade of her life in deep thought before finally shaking her head and mumbling to herself the following insight: “Wow, what a shit show.”
So, she sat down, braless and alone, and penned a collection of laugh-out-loud essays about the ridiculous, shocking and occasionally horrifying things that happen to us as we ungracefully age from 20 to 30, try, semi-successfully, to leave our clueless years behind and become mature, responsible grown-up women.
From weird hairs to boob sweat, OCD to weddings, Twirty-Something swings between a no-holds-barred conversation and a cautionary tale about aging and all the crap that comes along with it.
Sometime instruction manual, sometime commiseration partner, get ready for Reinke’s honest and occasionally potty-mouthed accounts of this tumultuous decade.
So hike up your yoga pants, plop another ice cube in your Pinot Grigio and get ready to laugh at the author, young women in general, and most of all at yourself.
