Apparently the doves were not deterred yesterday by a dog running at them in his yard. They have now moved to the kids yard where the chickens hang out. I don’t mind them being there, but my critters seem to have a different opinion and are very obvious about their feelings. The doves however don’t seem to care what their opinions are.

She witnesses a vicious murder, is captured, tortured, and nearly driven insane.
Visited by ghosts of the former Caledonia Plantations slaves and owners, aging County Sheriff, Joshua Eugene Stokes spends a great deal of his free time sitting on his porch drinking and reminiscing the past.
His passion for maintaining the pride and chivalry of the Old South make him a desirable lawman; however, the discovery of the mutilated, decapitated corpse of a young woman by a state worker, leads Joshua Stokes on the most challenging quest of his career.
The case forces him to question his beliefs, his integrity, and to recollect events in his life and career that have brought him to the present day. It also places his life in eminent danger, as unseen forces seem to work against his every move.
A tired, disillusioned Joshua must pull himself together if he is going to be able to save this young girls life.

In this tale set in the world of a nearly extinct Native American tribe which prospered thousands of years before that same locale became the city of Los Angeles, a young Tongva brave, Tacu, struggles to understand and survive the baffling and often dangerous lessons of Takoda, his mysterious mentor from the North.
Until he does so successfully, he won’t be allowed to travel to the village at the Place of the Stones to undergo his vision quest and formal initiation into manhood – and only by doing so can he earn back the respect of his peers and court the maiden he loves, for he is now shunned by the village as a despicable coward.
But he is being held to a different and difficult path by Takoda. He must go through harrowing life lessons and experiences to prepare him to face his future courageously and with honor, and bring him to recognize his own spirituality. Tacu never imagines the crucial impact these teachings will have on him, the spiritual gifts with which he will be endowed, or how dramatically his life will change before his journey to manhood is complete. A thoughtful and moving inspirational story about America’s First People.

The Devil Wants Finn Carey’s Soul
Ken Davis
(9 Reviews)
Genre: Horror
FREE for a limited time
It’s 1863 and seventeen year old Finn Carey wants it all – a bit cocky, even for a young Irishman working in the mills of Massachusetts, but ambition is the one thing Finn never lacked. It’s when scores of bodies wash onto the rocky shore, poor immigrants on an ocean-crossing from Ireland, that Finn confronts a diabolical ambition that dwarfs his own. As the sun goes down, the ship that carried his brother and sisters runs aground nearby, neither mast nor spar out of true, and not a soul onboard. The darkened ship groans against the rocks, and from deep inside the holds rises a vile evil, who slips into the night.
Finn needs all the grit he’s ever mustered to save his family, along the way rethinking everything he thought he knew about ambition and love – as well as about talking corpses, arson, riots, and grave robbing. On his side are two remarkable young women, each with a claim on Finn’s heart: a devil-hunting ex-nun from Eastern Europe who’s been on the trail of this devil for years, and the girl from the doomed ship gifted with a second sight who rescued his sisters. On the other side – a devil who now wants Finn’s very soul.
